Lake enhanced snow showers were causing light snow accumulations
over some roads near and north of the Michigan border where up to
an inch of snow has fallen. Wind gusts up to 40 mph have caused a
few areas of blowing snow in the vicinity of the snow showers. If
you are travelling early this morning, be prepared for snow
covered and slippery roads over portions of far northern Indiana
into Lower Michigan. The visibilities in the snow showers may drop
to a half a mile or less. Little improvement is expected the rest
of the morning.

over some roads near and north of the Michigan border where up to
an inch of snow has fallen. Wind gusts up to 40 mph have caused
areas of blowing and drifting snow in the vicinity of the snow
showers. If you are travelling early this morning, be prepared for
snow covered and slippery roads over far northern Indiana into
Lower Michigan. The visibilities in the snow showers may drop to a
half a mile or less.

Temperatures away from Lake Michigan have fallen several degrees
below freezing. Some streets may develop patches of black ice
where wet surfaces have frozen. If you are travelling early this
morning, be prepared for snow covered and slippery roads.

The combination of ongoing lake effect rain and drizzle, recent
snow, and temperatures hovering around the freezing mark have led
to a few slick spots on roadways this morning. Temperatures will
rise into the upper 30s and lower 40s by 9 AM EST with a reduced
threat of slick conditions heading into mid morning. If travelling
early this morning, be prepared for isolated slick conditions and
variable road conditions.

Occasional light snow showers this morning will become more
widespread this afternoon. Snow accumulations are expected to be
generally an inch or less and mainly across grassy areas and
elevated surfaces. Despite the minor accumulations, the
combination of the light snow and temperatures near the freezing
mark may produce a few slick spots on roadways through the evening
commute, especially across bridges and overpasses.

Scattered light snow showers are expected to develop tonight, but
little in the way of snow accumulation is expected. Widespread
snow is then expected to overspread the area on Thursday. Slushy
snow accumulations of an inch or two are expected Thursday. It
will also become windy on Thursday with west to southwest gusts to
30 to 35 mph. The combination of snow and windy conditions may
result in limited visibilities at times. With initially warmer
ground conditions and temperatures hovering around the freezing
mark, confidence remains low in how much snow will accumulate on
roadways Thursday, but motorists should be alert to the
possibility of some slick conditions during the period of greatest
snowfall rates from midday Thursday through late Thursday
afternoon.

The fog has started to lift above a quarter mile VISBY with daylight
occurring and so the advisory will be allowed to expire. Some VISBY
obstruction still exists so continue to keep low beam headlights on
